Bhubaneswar: BJD Chairman and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday urged party leaders to spread the message about the state government’s achievements to counter false opposition propaganda.
Addressing MPs, district unit chairmen and observers virtually ahead, Naveen said he was aware that party leaders were doing all they could to ensure the victory of BJD-backed candidates in the polls of the panchayat.
Naveen, while talking about some of the successful programs of his government, said that Odisha is now a leading state in terms of creating irrigation potential, educational infrastructure, industrialization and tribal welfare.
“The Mo Sarkar program has led to people’s participation in governance. We all know that the people of Odisha love BJD thus blessing the party in every election,” Naveen said.
The chief minister also criticized opposition parties, saying their only job seems to be to engage in false propaganda. “I have full confidence that you will counter the false propaganda of opposition parties by spreading the achievements of our government to gain the blessing of the people,” he added.
The Chief Minister, on occasion, highlighted some of the popular projects of his government. He said the smart card under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana has helped create hope and confidence among people. In addition, the BJD government has provided an interest-free loan worth Rs 10,000 crore to women’s self-help groups during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Naveen also highlighted the Kalia program under which financial benefits were paid to farmers, including landless farm workers, as well as programs such as housing repair assistance for the poor and financial assistance holders of a food security card.
Stating that every person’s life is precious, Naveen urged everyone to adhere to Covid protocols.
