New Delhi: Congress on Thursday lambasted Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu after the latter’s comments against Rahul Gandhi. The remarks came after the CM dismissed opposition claims that Chinese forces were entering Indian territory and said the MP for Wayanad lacked in-depth knowledge of the northeast.
“Pema Khandu, an expert in geography as a whole, seems to think that Ladakh is in the northeast of India. That’s the kind of northeast expert he is,” the leader tweeted. from AIPC Delhi, Amitabh Dubey.
“A worthy MA chela in full political science. Another product of Great BJP Washing Machine,” party leader Jairam Ramesh quipped.
Khandu’s comments came after the congress leader said 1,000 square kilometers of Indian territory had been given to China.
“Rahul Gandhi doesn’t have much knowledge about the northeast let alone Arunachal. He raises such questions about the northeast that he doesn’t have deep knowledge about,” said CM Khandu.
He added that all the activities that were carried out were in Chinese territory.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel also took a swipe at the BJP, saying the party Bharat Jodo Yatra aimed at “maintaining and strengthening democracy”.
“The BJP constantly insults democracy, abuses the powers of central agencies,” he alleged.
