Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this evening hailed the European Commission’s decision to scrap duties and quotas on Ukrainian exports, saying exports will help stabilize markets as Russia seeks to ’cause a global price crisis’ .
In his Wednesday evening address, Zelensky said: “For the time being, this will allow us to maintain as much economic activity in Ukraine as possible, our national production. But this decision must be considered not only in the Ukrainian context. Sufficient export of our products on European and global markets will be an important anti-crisis tool.”
Zelensky also condemned Russia’s “energy blackmail” in Europe, saying: “The decision to cut off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria is another argument for the fact that no one in Europe can hope to maintain normal economic cooperation with Russia.
“Russia sees not only gas, but all trade as a weapon. It is just waiting for the time when one or another trade area can be used. To blackmail the Europeans politically. Or to strengthen the Russian military machine, who sees in a united Europe Therefore, the sooner everyone in Europe will admit that it is inadmissible to depend on Russia in trade, the sooner it will be possible to guarantee the stability of European markets.

Unbreakable people of the bravest country!
The 63rd day of our defense is coming to an end. A day during which a lot was done.
Firstly, an important decision of the European Union is in preparation. The European Commission has agreed to remove all duties and quotas on Ukrainian exports for one year, as well as to suspend anti-dumping tariffs. I discussed the details of this proposal with President Ursula von der Leyen today. I am personally grateful to him and to all our European friends for this step.
At present, this will allow us to maintain as much economic activity in Ukraine as possible, our national production. But this decision should be considered not only in the Ukrainian context. The sufficient export of our products to European and world markets will be an important anti-crisis tool.
Russia is trying to cause a global price crisis. Start chaos in all basic markets and especially in the food market. Ukrainian exports will help stabilize markets. It is therefore beneficial not only for us, but also for all Europeans. For residents of all countries who may be affected by Russia’s destructive ambitions.
The decisions of new partners to liberalize our exports are expected soon. We also agree with the European Union on how to increase the potential of transport corridors on our western border.
I spoke today with the President of Indonesia. Especially on food security. I stressed that the threat of starvation for millions of people in different countries will persist until Russia begins to seek peace with Ukraine. It is because of this war waged by Russia that dozens of States have found themselves in a situation where they cannot be assured of the stability of their people.
I am grateful to Indonesia for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our state, for taking an honest and responsible position in the vote at the UN. I am also grateful for the invitation to participate in this year’s G20 summit.
A conversation took place with the Italian Prime Minister. I thanked Mr. Draghi for his participation in the investigation of the crimes committed by the Russian army. I briefed him on the situation in the combat zones. We appreciate Italy’s support for truly effective sanctions that can end the war.
This week, Russian leaders launched a new round of energy blackmail of Europeans. The decision to cut off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria is another argument in favor of the fact that no one in Europe can hope to maintain normal economic cooperation with Russia.
Russia sees not only gas, but all trade as a weapon. He is just waiting for the time when one or the other trade area can be used. To politically blackmail the Europeans. Or to strengthen the Russian military machine, which sees a united Europe as its goal.
Thus, the sooner everyone in Europe will admit that it is inadmissible to depend on Russia in trade, the sooner it will be possible to guarantee the stability of European markets.
A meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities took place today. The first meeting during the full-scale war. A set of questions were discussed. In particular, the reconstruction of our country. We are already working on all the details so that the post-war reconstruction project can be implemented quickly and as efficiently as possible.
I underlined that we expect specific requests and proposals from the local authorities. So that we can discuss specifically with our partners, with the European Union, with international donors. Communities must provide all information on destroyed housing, all damaged objects.
We discussed how and in what order to build, how to organize the purchase of ready housing. Our goal is not just to rebuild everything that was destroyed by the occupiers. But also to solve old problems of housing queues, etc. So that all soldiers, first aiders, police officers, all those who work for the State have their own accommodation.
Today in Congress we heard the reports about providing housing to displaced people as quickly as possible. On the interaction between central and local authorities in temporarily occupied communities. Issues of territorial defense development and coordination between local authorities and law enforcement agencies were discussed.
Today, I especially want to support the Ukrainians in the south of our country. In Kherson, in all the communities of the region, in the temporarily occupied districts of the Zaporizhzhia region. I am grateful to everyone who does not give up. who protests. Who ignores the occupants and shows these pariahs who have become collaborators that they have no future. The stronger our resistance now, the more the occupiers will be rejected, the sooner normal life will return to our land.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to defeat the invaders throughout the territory where fighting continues. I am grateful to each of our defenders who are doing everything for Russia to lose.
Mariupol, Marinka, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Izyum, Rubizhne, Dniprorudne, Melitopol and all other cities and communities which are now at the epicenter of the struggle for Ukraine. This is where the fight for the future of our people takes place. Thank you to everyone who brings our victory closer!
I just signed decrees on the allocation of our heroes. 173 Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen received Ukrainian state awards. The title Hero of Ukraine was awarded to Lieutenant General Serhiy Ivanovych Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Eternal glory to all who have defended our state! Eternal memory to all those who gave life to Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!
