Video: Egyptian Armed Forces Host British Egyptian Counter Terrorism Seminar


The Egyptian Armed Forces held the British Egyptian Counter-Terrorism Seminar (EBS-CT 2022) on Tuesday as part of the Armed Forces’ drive to support cooperation and transfer of expertise with friendly countries.

Egyptian Armed Forces spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez said the activities of EBS-CT 22 are part of the Armed Forces taking science-based executive measures to confront all the causes of the phenomenon of terrorism.

Forum activities began with a speech by the head of the military intelligence service Khaled Megawer.

He welcomed the British delegation and the participating elements.

He underlined the importance of the transfer and exchange of experiences to keep pace with successive developments in the field of the fight against terrorism.

The success of the Egyptian experience in the fight against terrorism rests on scientific foundations to confront all the causes of the phenomenon.

For his part, British Air Marshal Joy Martin Sampson, senior adviser to the British Chief of Defense for the Middle East and North Africa, hailed the strategic relationship with Egypt, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

The seminar included a number of lectures and discussions focusing on the threats and challenges posed by terrorism, as well as the psychological and social dimensions of this phenomenon.

The cybersecurity seminar brought together a range of academics and experts from both sides.

The activities of the forum brought together commanders of the armed forces, leaders of the Ministry of Interior, members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Administrative Control Authority, presidents and professors of universities, students of the Nasser Higher Military Academy and the College of Commanders and General Staff, some tribal leaders from Sinai, in addition to deputies of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
