Evil Geniuses adds Stewie2k to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster

Tuesday, Evil Geniuses announcement the newest addition to their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive line in Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip.

As one of North America’s most successful CS:GO players, Stewie2k was part of Team Cloud9 that won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 against Faze Clan, bringing North America its first major title. He was also part of the Team Liquid team that won the Intel Grand Slam in 2019, which is awarded to the team that wins four S-Tier events hosted by ESL or DreamHack Masters in a window of 10 consecutive events. He is the only North American player to have both an Intel Grand Slam and a major tournament.

Stewie2k joins Evil Genius CS:GO

The full Evil Geniuses CS:GO roster would include two more members of Cloud9’s big winning team in 2018, according to a tweet from the CEO of Evil Geniuses, Nicole LaPointe Jameson. According to a report by 1pv.fr, Timothy “autimatic” Ta will return to CS:GO after his time with the T1 VALORANT team. This goes along with LaPointe Jameson’s comment, “I know you all want roster changes to come automatically.” Another of his comments on said tweet, “News is coming, no need to rush,” also implies that William “RUSH” Wierzba will be joining the new Evil Geniuses roster as well. Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte and Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov will complete the last two spots since they were already part of the team.

In the announcement video, the entry fragger explains how excited he is to join the new roster. He is already with the rest of the team on their European Bootcamp. “We can’t wait to show what we can do and reveal our true potential,” Stewie2k said in the video.

All that remains is to wait for the rest of the list to be unveiled. Will the new Evil Geniuses roster be North America’s new hope? Fans can only wait and see.
