Elliot Page and Lilly Wachowski file lawsuit against bill to limit transgender health care

According to reports, the duo have decided to file a lawsuit which seeks to counter the following House Bill 1570. The purpose of this bill is to try to prevent doctors from providing medical care to young transgender people and instead refer them to another service.

Although the bill passed, the fact is that this lawsuit prevented it from coming into force. It’s no wonder to see Elliot and Lily support this cause because they are both transgender.

And that’s something they didn’t hide despite the media attention that followed. After all, it’s no secret that Elliot hasn’t been in movies as big as she was before her decision to come out.

Meanwhile, for Lilly, there hasn’t been a noticeable difference considering she’s a director. The response to this has been very favorable from the medical community.

A certain subset of people believe that it is ultimately a choice for each individual to decide what medical care they should receive. This is regardless of their beliefs or even how they choose to identify themselves.

But in reality, at a time when medical resources are stretched, others argue that there are more important things that need to be prioritized rather than transgender issues.

However, in an official statement given by the American Psychiatric Association, a representative declared: “Patients and their doctors, not decision makers, should be making decisions together about what care is best for them.

There is still a long way to go to determine if Elliot and Lilly’s support will lead to a different outcome. Regardless of the outcome of the dispute, it showed that the two will continue to fight for transgender rights until the end.

And that’s something their fans have resonated with in addition to acting success. We’ll have to see how it all pans out.
